240709 – One Lucky Day for My Wallet, My Wireless and My Way

Theme Song: Boyzone – Better

Start of my day
I started out my day extremely early today. I departed from my house at 5:30am. Eventually I reached campus at 5:45am. Guess what? The gate was closed; the guard was asleep. There was no entry for me! So, I tried to kill off the time by finding an eating place to have my breakfast. In the end, I returned to campus again with an empty stomach because it seemed like no one was awakened for business (sweat, I thought Kuching kopitiam suppose to open early!!). It was 6:15am already when I was outside the gate. The gate was opened up for me. With no second thought, I drove into campus and rushed to my lab to kick start my experiment. It was an amazing trip on my way to my lab because the surrounding was so quiet. No one was around. Feels like the world is mine, haha! The sky turn bright pretty fast from 6am until 6:30am…darkness was making way for the dawn to come. It makes me feel good~ For the first time, I told myself: “it’s good to be alive…”. Really.

At 6:35am, I had heavy breakfast at Loong Siang Yuan. I took a bowl of Kolo Mee and a cup of Milk-C. They all taste great~ When I returned to campus after breakfast, it was already 7am. The sky was already very bright.

My Wallet
Two hours later, I reached the Spring shopping mall. I took a stroll within the mall before settled down at the starbucks coffee shop.

Bored...

Bored...

There, I got myself a caramel hot chocolate (the only drink that I prefer to drink in the shop) and ready to go online. Unfortunately, my wireless adapter was not working… No wireless network was detected! What the…
I paid RM13.15 for nothing except the drink (it is a nice drink though)!!! But I could not accept the fact that I couldn’t go online!! So, I tried all methods I knew to bring my wireless adapter back to life. After an hour attempt with the help of a few friends, I decided to give up and would call to Dell Support Center once I back into office. To diverge myself from being upset about the wireless malfunction, I did some data entry of my experimental result. After finished, I sat there in the coffee shop, waiting for my sister to come for about 10 minutes… For the first time, I felt terribly bored and had nothing to do except snapping.

After taking my lunch, I decided to leave the Spring at 2pm. It was then I remembered that I should have held something in my hand! Suddenly, I heard my name in the air…it was like a call from heaven. I quickly ran to the customer service counter to verify the call. When I reached there and try to verify the call, the lady at the counter told me that my name was called out a minute ago…I was wordless back then… it was a cleaner who picked up my wallet bag which I left in the 1st level washroom three hours ago. Thank God that honest people still exist in Kuching! On the other hand, I must say that I was really careless and was really clumsy to have left the wallet bag back in the washroom…haih…
Thank God for the saviour.

My Wireless
By now, I suppose you could guess that my wireless adapter had gotten back to life again… but how?
Thanks to my new friend, Hudy, who helped out with the revive of my studio 1555 wireless function. But I wasted an hour of his time doing something not related with his work at all, sorry ya, Hudy…
But without his help, I really don’t know what to do. With limited wireless access and telephone service in campus these days, it made the troubleshooting work harder than it could be done.
It took me about 15 minutes before a Dell technician picked up my call…sweat. Physically I sweat a lot too since no air-con available these days in the office. I looked like someone who had undergo sauna during the troubleshooting session.
Ignore that part and back to the Dell technician story: I was given the instruction to uninstall the wireless adapter driver. I did accordingly. At the same time, the driver was deleted and I don’t have the driver with me anymore!! Damn… I had no choice but to ask Hudy to download the driver from his Inspiron. The download was extremely slow. I then decided to ask the technician for other alternative. He suggested a system restore. Initially I was quite reluctant to do so because I feared my document might lost after performing the system restore. It took five minutes for the technician to convince me that my file would not be affected…(this was due to lost of my trust on him after he suggested to uninstall the driver with delete instruction checked and on the other hand, I had little idea about how system restore works…sucks)
Amazingly, the system restore revived my wireless function! This would mean that some component of the wireless driver was corrupted after I installed some window xp game on last Tuesday. ANyway, I was very happy back then and reminded myself not to install any game that initially only suit window xp. NEveR EVER going to do that again!!

My Way
It was 5pm already.
I initially plan to head back home after finished with the troubleshooting work but Riady arrival change it all. Btw, Riady and Hudy are brothers.
Anyway, I had some chit chat with Riady after he arrived. We talked about what happened to my studio 1555. After that, our favourite anime – detective Conan.
At 5:30pm, Riady ask me to join him and Hudy to snap the red and white flower that appear in campus. I had no idea what kind of flower he mentioned…but it was a long awaited invitation. Without any hesitation, I followed them to see what was the wonder flowers that Riady mentioned.
Well, it turned out that it was not a new kind of flower to me, haha… I had seen a better version of the the flowers;… too bad I never had a close snap of them (fyi, I am constrained to my height and my gadget zooming ability). It was quite an enjoyable half an hour because for the first time, I am not snapping alone. During the snapping, Riady was being naughty by picking up a rock and throw it at some distance away from the area where we stand. I think he regretted to have picked up the rock because lots of big, black ants walked out of a hole beneath the rock that he picked up! I couldn’t capture well the ants though…

I guess it was not a fruitful snapping session for Hudy because most of the flowers had lost its charm after a big fall yesterday afternoon. Pity him… Since I don’t have a specific target, I snap whatever look nice in my eyes. Here’s the best shot of the day:

Committed Photographer

Committed Photographer

There’s a reason why I named the photograph as “Committed Photographer”.
Here’s why: Whenever this guy wished to snap, he will have to carry a 6kg-7kg bag containing his photo shooting gadget…Heavy, isn’t it? I won’t have the persistent to continue with photography if I were him. WHat a guy… he had great determination and great spirit in photographing. Impressive…

Well, I guess that’s about it! One fruitful day for me.
I would consider it as the most lucky day in my life of the year.
Thanks to my determination to wake up early.
Thanks to my friends who were there when I needed them the most. Thank you, you are all my saviour.
Not forgetting, thank you, God, for sending saviours to me in time I needed the most. Thanks for answered my prayer.

140709 – just a thought

Theme song: Joanna – Let’s Start From Here

I had been quite sick since the week before last week until now… never realize I was sick until I continuously cough for one week! Damn… guess I’m not so stupid at all (people say one who is stupid will never get sick =p)

Anyway, I tend to have weird thoughts when I’m weak… most of them are negative ones like when will I be successful in what I’m doing. Looking back at my life, I have not achieved much in my 25 years plus of my life. The only thing I got is probably a bit of good drawing pictures which buried on my study table back at my home underneath pile of reference books. Probably manage to play a minute of Mozart piece on piano (not a very smooth one). Teach simple maths. Sing a bit. Bit by bit is all I got and not able to bring me far–

Well, better fix my life than just knowing that it’s not good enough… but how? Who would know except me?

God, please send a saviour to rescue me well ya?

My Saviour?

Saviour?
